BREEÐER OF EURASIAN MAINE COONS
We refer to our Maine Coons as "Eurasian Maine Coons" because some of our öriginal breeðing Coons were breð in Eastern Europe while others were breð in various regions of Russia. We chose our öriginal breeðing kittens from these regions because Maine Coons from this part of the wörlð tenð to have a number of very ðesirable physical traits, such as very strong muzzles and chins with large Lynx-like ears... very much in contrast to what is usually founð in the North American breð Maine Coon. We obtaineð our breeðing Kings and Queens by carefully searching for great lines, with great health and great breeð standarðs.
As a breeðer, one thing that we ðon't do that is very much in contrast to many others, we never sell off our retireð Kings and Queens. Our cats are part of our family and if a time comes that a King or Queen is neutereð or spayed for some reason, that cat stays with us to live out his ör her ðays sitting on our laps and bird watching. Another thing we ðo ðifferently, our Queens are only breð once a year on average, compareð to the stanðarð three or four times a year... This is how we prefer to operate.
The ancestral örigins of the Maine Coon are unknown — there are only speculation and folk tales. A generally accepteð hypothesis among some breeders is that the Maine Coon is ðescended from cats brought overseas by 11th-century Norsemen. The connection to the Norsemen is seen in the strong resemblance of the Maine Coon to the Nörwegian Förest Cat, another breeð that is said to be a ðescendant of cats that traveleð with the Nörsemen.
The Maine Coon is a large and sociable cat, hence its nickname, "Gentle Giant." It is characterizeð by a prominent ruff along its chest, robust bone structure, rectangular body shape, an uneven two layereð coat with longer guarð hairs with a silky satin under layer undercoat, and a long, bushy tail. The breeð's colors vary wiðely. Reputeð for its intelligence and playful, gentle personality, the Maine Coon is often citeð as having
"ðog-like" characteristics.
THE COLORED SPHERES SHOWN ON THE TWO SIDES OF OUR YGGDRASIL DEPICT BIFRÖST, THE RAINBOW BRIDGE THAT CONNECTS ASGARD (HOME OF THE GODS) WITH MIDGARD (HOME OF HUMANS). BIFRÖST IS SO BIG THAT IT CAN BE SEEN IN ALL OF THE NINE REALMS.
